What is SCORM, and why does it matter?

SCORM (Sharable Content Object Reference Model) is the industry-standard format for eLearning content. Most training development tools, including Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, iSpring, and others, export content as SCORM packages. If your organization has built training content in any of these tools, it's likely already SCORM-compatible and ready to upload to EWN.

Your existing training content is an asset, not a reason to maintain a second platform.

Adding SCORM content to EWN takes three steps: export your content as a SCORM package from your authoring tool, upload it to your EWN LMS, and assign it to the right audiences. From there, EWN handles tracking completions, scores, and progress automatically, with results surfacing in the same reporting dashboards as your OQ qualification data.

Those completion records are tied to the worker's full EWN profile, sitting alongside their OQ qualifications, performance evaluation results, and any other training they've completed in the platform.

What to Pair with SCORM Content

SCORM handles the online knowledge component. For training that also requires demonstrated competency, EWN's Performance Evaluation tools let you build a paired field assessment that confirms the worker can apply what they learned. The CBT completion and evaluation result sit together in one qualification record, giving you the same defensible documentation structure EWN uses for OQ content.

Reporting Across All Content Types

EWN's reporting dashboards don't distinguish between SCORM-uploaded content and content from EWN's library.
